  1. Counterpoint: could it be somewhere in between? To your example at 5:20 which I think was perfectly analogous: that toy is now YOUR property. It was given to you. As much as I love Star Wars, it isn’t mine. I’m not saying there aren’t flaws and some reaction isn’t justified but it’s possible blind allegiance is the precursor for some entitlement understandably. Maybe it wouldn’t hurt to add a pinch of self awareness to anyone who thinks an IP somehow belongs to them. Nothing wrong with being critical of a new face so long as it’s consistent and reasonable. IMO that line separates Rian fucking up and on the other side maybe the prequels are better than we give them credit and achieve a specific purpose that often gets overlooked bc…PREQUELS. Idk.
