This is what everyone gets wrong: a blue chair? Weird start with the thumbnail no clue what we’re pointing at but don’t use hyperbolic presumptuous bating language and I won’t feel the need to equally pedantic. There’s zero peer reviewed data on plane crashes that have held up so I don’t need to watch to know it’s everything. Especially if it’s survival. As Stephen moss puts it: you simply can’t know until you know why it crashed. Not many know more about planes crashing and why they survive I’ll tell you right now.

It has nothing to do with culture and has everything to do with the severity of the fire, level of risk, and subsequent ability to follow directions combined with the assertiveness of the flight team. Culture does not dictate any of those elements. Training does. People have died in all types of cultures and lived in all types of fires. And different flights have had the reverse outcome. The key factor is the fire. If someone is telling you a culture or people is the reason ppl are surviving evacuation they are being objectively quintessentially racist. People also usually are ignorant to basic stats. What are the incident rates of a flight averting fire resulting in zero deaths ? And what are the odds it’s a larger plane? Have you considered smaller planes fail to recover from such an event? Or have the issue less often? What country has the most flights? Work backwards. The ability to analyze this is made impossible by the simple fact that statistically the US has a majority over carried passengers. By way of stats some “cultures” won’t ever evn be presented with this dilemma. Not to mention a much much larger plane is inherently a logistically nightmare especially in a growing emergency. Culture does not drive these circumstances. This is incredibly silly to even suggest is the case
