Fair play to Joe and the content An absolute work horse. Highly talented fighter. But Showing Roy Jones says EVERYTHING ironically as the thumbnail. Want to know why? You can quite literally only put 2 other fighters in the thumbnail he beat that someone would recognize. Joe was Eubank’s was his penultimate dance partner. And he called it the toughest fight of his career. Roy and Bernard we all know the state they were in at that time. Smart marks have long put this debate to bed. A dead division he was excellent at avoiding dangerous fights and even better at winning the fights he was contractually obligated to fight. All in all, he did it right many could argue. Myself included. But that comes at the obvious price of legacy and recognition.

One of the only defensive wizards to opt to fight in firefights regularly. He never actually said it but I truly think he didn’t want to be labeled boring and disrespected like Pernell who took a while to get his flowers. Guy could be unhittable if he wanted or just go to war and stand his feet ten toes down. The Jirov fight is not only by far the best I’ve attended but the best I had personally seen to that point other than maybe Ike vs tua or Gatti Ward. Only ever really outclassed by one man. And really a couple exchanges where he got sloppy with a prime Roy and he spent the rest of the fight taking unnecessary risks to get his get back. I’m not a big fan of Toney but I sincerely appreciate his skill. I wished he leaned jnto evasion more but then again he might have been another Rigo if he went that route so good for him

Got absolutely schooled though. A slick veteran will have no problems as we’ve already seen. A fantastic watch though that’s for sure. He just runs out of ideas vs a responsible counter puncher
