So even if Islam edges ahead in 1 round, which I think could be argued, it’s still close. 48-47 is literally just a single closely contested round away from 49-46. Let’s not do this thought. Volk had a great fight. He didn’t win. 3 rounds seems unanimous how you’re arguing a close round going to volk in your scenario he won wouldn’t be equally unfair is confusing but let’s just enjoy they did it

  2. I just hope this doesn’t get caveated now with “volk fought him this close despite being a featherweight what a legend”. Islam is the better fighter right now and Volk’s career will continue to be legendary. As a long time fan of boxing too, we throw parties at mere rumors of belt holders in the same gd division fighting…Let alone a once in a generation strap hunter prowling neighboring divisions. Just enjoy this while you have it. Not gonna happen again for a while
