  1. 130F is an average temperature in that particular spot. There are absolutely heat pockets in the 140F range and a above and the air moving over sufficiently hot or reflective surfaces can drive temps even higher. You can quite literally go into shock and heatstroke simultaneously, in such conditions. The namesake is well established: Death Valley.
