  4. I’ve been into Electronic before Tiesto was a thing and then wasn’t a thing. I’m talking some of the first stuff I heard was Detroit House, my friend and I had tables at 14 and I think he’s onto something. I also think you’ve got a point but I think it’s thoroughly within your sphere of knowledge. Most of the variety curve in terms of pop music is flattening and algorithms absolutely have a lot to do with this. Without algorithms, Marshmallow wouldn’t exist. The guy never would have got off the ground, and there’s loads of other artists across many genres that would have shared a similar fate in a more centrally curated era.
