@JEMurl What if she was your daughter, sister, or friend, Would you stand on the innocent until proven guilty side than? Are you in the 'believe women no matter what' camp? Why even bother having a justice system that asks for ACTUAL EVIDENCE that a crime occurred then? You should look up Chris Hardwick and how an ex-girlfriend's accusation messed up his life and career for long time until she was found to be lying and even then not everyone believed Hardwick was innocent and stood by the woman anyways. She on the otherhand faced relatively little backlash for her lies.

@sew_gal7340 Well that does it. The public court of law has judged Nick to be guilty and so he's guilty. Who needs the justice system and ACTUAL EVIDENCE to convict someone anymore?

@karlagordon4555 Have people not learned from the Chris Hardwick case that its very easy for women to lie and have it mess up a man's life for a very long time? Hardwick was later found to be telling the truth and yet some people STILL think he's guilty while his ex-girlfriend got away scot free with little real repercussions even after being exposed.

@karlagordon4555 I mean yes, but we also have celebrities who have been charged for rape years later. Likes of r Kelly. Suggesting that we are wrong for not instantly believing nick Carter is innocent just because of another celebs experience is kind of naive. With R Kelly or Bill Cosby or Weinstein and similar cases, usually there's been much more evidence behind those accusations even before they were finally brought to the justice system and the accused were found guilty of their crimes. With cases like with Nick Carter here, it seems to have come out of nowhere and I guess we'll have to see if she has actual evidence or not to back up her claims. However even if Nick Carter is found to be innocent its highly unlikely that this woman that made the accusations to begin with will ever face any serious consequences while there will always be a few people who believe Carter is guilty of sexual assault regardless of the outcome in the courts.

@agesago528 Thank you, finally a comment with some common sense and compassion. Victims of sexual assault take a while to come forward but it doesn’t invalidate what they’ve endured. Sexual assault is very traumatic and can result victims in to bottling it all in instead of saying what happened. But after so many years how does a woman even remember everything accurately? Often people can't remember everything even just after an event occurred let alone decades later. If the victim had solid evidence, why wouldn't she go to police right away and file a report?
