@erikjohansson4275 Its interesting how when Ukraine was making large gains in territory very quickly during the Kharkiv offensive that the pro-Russian folks played it down as not being a very big deal. Now that Russia has captured a few towns and progressed forward a few kilometers after all these months all of a sudden its the beginning of the end for the Ukrainians again. I guess when you have very little good news its best to celebrate whatever success you have.

@looinrims It makes no sense to stop now. Support for Ukraine should be increasing even more if the west is serious about ending this war sooner rather than later. The ONLY WAY to achieve long lasting and close to permanent peace when your neighbors with Russia is to decisively defeat them on the battlefield and then join NATO to have indefinite protection against future Russian attacks against you. I don't see how without Ukraine gaining NATO protection that there might not be future skirmishes between them and Russia or even another future war between them when Russia recovers from their losses.

@erikjohansson4275 In my memory the pro Russia people were complaining, panicking and depressing over the Kharkov offensive. And rightly so, it was a huge setback for Russia they have yet to recover from. Depends on which pro-Russian people you were looking at. I think those on Telegram were much more alarmed over the offensive while some of the more popular pro-Russian Youtubers like the Duran were talking down and trying to minimize the significant setback that was the Kiev retreat, then Kharkiv offensive and then the Kherson liberation. But that doesn't make "Russia can't attack" less of a detached from reality when Russia is actively conducting offensive operations The Russians are indeed conducting offensive operations, but they're NOTHING like the scale that they were at the beginning of the invasion and they involve far fewer armored vehicles which is why its turned into trench warfare where progress for the Russians is measured in hundreds of meters per day at best rather than kilometers per day at the beginning of the war. I would be surprised if Russia could launch another large scale armored offensive again during this war and even if they somehow were able to, it wouldn't look pretty when you have Cold War era tanks joining in the attack.
