Looks like they got a black man to play the new Bond after all.

@bobnewfart Chris may not be a fighter, but he seems to be an overall logical and level headed person who's above getting into physical confrontations unless its absolutely necessary.

@lorrispain4125 It just feels like in the early 2000s or 1990s this whole concept was important. I mean the stars felt way more like stars and the awards and nominations felt like badges of quality. I think we went from quality to quantity in recent years. With highspeed internet, streaming services and so many shows and movies being pumped out by various companies, the level of quality of shows and movies has gone down in general. Also many people especially younger people just care about consuming as much media as possible without wanting to experience it fully. This is why home theater is not as big as it use to be and going to the movies to watch a film on the large screen with surround sound isn't as important as it use to be. With so much media out there and so many actors, everything feels less special and unique because the quantity has diluted things so much.

@DeKai I use to really enjoy watching the Oscars and it always had some politics and other SJW crap mixed in here and there, but it was relatively low and it still focused on the movies and the people involved in them. Then that changed and it started going downhill in the 2010s and then Jada Smith really hit the gas pedal when she boycotted the Oscars in 2016 because there were too many white nominees for the awards and that really accelerated the changes that we've seen today where making sure there's enough black people and other minorities and also women is just as important if not more so than the movies and celebrating the best films of the year. Hollywood and pretty much all our politicians and major businesses have let SJWs and wokeness completely takeover everything and its turned nearly everything to shit.

@CoffeeConnected I thought it was funny and had a good laugh. And these days the kind of jokes Chris was making was about as far as you can go if you don't want to get cancelled and criticised to hell and back by SJWs. I remember it was barely 11 years ago when Comedy Central had a special with the roast of Donald Trump. Holy crap that was one of the most funniest roasts of all time and I couldn't stop laughing. Hard to believe a little over a decade later pretty much every comedian in that special would likely be cancelled today for the kind of jokes they made.

I seriously doubt the viewership could get any lower than last year's show with covid restrictions in full force. This year would have a bounce back to at least a half decent number.

@psibug565 It was definitely more alive 20+ years ago before it got really hit with the diversity bat in the head. Hollywood up until maybe the 2000s use to make great movies that didn't have to check all the 'right' boxes.
