@bobbeel3255 Zelensky is brave for staying, but really does he have a choice? If he left when he was offered or he leaves now, how would his fellow Ukrainians ever forgive him or take him back as their leader if he left his people to fight while he flew away to safety? He'd likely be done in Ukraine and also it may affect the morale of his troops and people.

@Elthenar Sometimes in the US, we forget that other peoples don't always have the same values as us and we can't force them. We should've learned LONG AGO that most muslim and black nations are hopeless causes when it comes to trying to build a stable and peaceful country where their people can start to improve their lives. In most of those nations the people there seem to care more about their tribe or gangs than they do for their country and trying to teach them to run a nation is largely a waste of time.

@Joseph-eh4rs If those generals are right then why are the Russians still making progress instead of being stopped in their tracks? Have the Russians perhaps under estimated the ability of the Ukrainian army's abilities and the Ukrainians' will to fight? Perhaps. Are they not advancing as quickly as hoped and taking more casualties than expected? Probably. But are they still pushing on and making slow but steady progress towards their objectives while the Ukrainian army is still only able to hang on without being able to counter attack? Yes. So no matter how 'embarrassing' the invasion has gone for the Russians in the first couple of weeks, their numbers and firepower are still making the difference and who knows how much longer the Ukrainian forces can hold out before they breakup and have to continue fighting as a guerilla force.

@peterpike We can stick our head in the sand and insist that we have the power to impose a No Fly Zone all we want, but the reality is the only way for NATO to put in a No Fly Zone is to defeat the current No Fly Zone imposed on NATO first. NATO definitely has the airforces necessary to take out the Russian airforce. The US airforce could likely do it on its own. If there's one thing that NATO excels at its air power and between their aircraft, training and weaponry, I don't think the Russians have a chance if NATO really wanted to impose a no fly zone over Ukraine. Any ground to air defenses that the Russians have will get taken out in short order whether it be from airstrikes and/or from missile attacks.

They might win the conventional war, but its not likely the Russians will win in the long term as long as Ukrainians are committed to fighting a neverending guerilla war like the Taliban or Viet Cong.
