Its because of the demographic of people involved. No one has the courage to hold them accountable for their actions because they're afraid of getting cancelled, being called racist and even losing their livelihoods for simply stating the facts.

Thisis Gettinboring Even more important that homogeny is that Tokyo and Japan in general is almost completely devoid of a certain demographic of people. In fact any place on earth that doesn't have many of a couple demographics of people immediately becomes a thousand times safer.

@dustintacohands1107 Japan is probably easily the best place on earth to live and although its not the same economic powerhouse that it was 15-20 years ago, its still doing quite fine. If I won the lotto tomorrow I'd move there ASAP.

@dustintacohands1107 I always find it weird and funny at the same time that we get hit over the head nearly everyday about how serious climate change is and how we need to take drastic action to reverse the effects, but simultaneously all these countries are concerned about population decline which is one of the biggest if not largest contributors to pollution and climate change. If Japan is having a net decline of population isn't that a GOOD thing because they're reducing their carbon emissions without even having to do anything? Hypothetically if their population declined by 20 million in the next 30-40 years, that's 20 million fewer people emitting carbon gases, using up earth's resources, producing garbage, fewer people stressing Japanese social services and the government having to worry about taking care of fewer seniors. How is all these benefits a BAD thing? I live in Canada and here Trudeau and his government are ABSOLUTELY OBSESSED with bringing in hundreds of thousands of new immigrants each and every year. This is the same Trudeau who's also ABSOLUTELY OBSESSED with telling Canadians that carbon taxes and taking drastic measures are necessary to reduce our emissions even as he's bringing in hundreds of thousands of new carbon emitters and resource users every single year which is TOTALLY not hypocritical and contradictory in his mind. So which is it then? If we want to 'save the planet' then we should be celebrating population decline and encourage it vigorously in poor countries as well. If all we care about is keeping an economy strong and having the rich get even richer, then stop being hypocrites and crying about climate change while at the same time bringing in neverending amounts of immigrants who only contribute to all the problems we have in our countries.

The thing is the distrust of police in every US city is highest among the same group of people every single time.

IN WHAT WORLD have safe injection sites worked out 'well' in Canada? I live in Toronto and SJS have been a TOTAL DISASTER. Ask anyone who has had one placed in their neighborhood and see if they think crime and violence has stayed the same or gotten worse since a SJS was open there? I bet you'll get the same answer everytime which is things have gotten worse. The purpose of SJS is supposedly to get addicts off the street and for them to do their drugs in a safer environment and out of the public eye. Sounds great doesn't it? Except the reality is addicts STILL shootup outside in the area, they STILL leave their needles and other drug stuff on the streets and they harass, steal and even assault people who pass by and/or live in the area. Like many things the government tells you, what they say and what actually happens is FAR different. If SJS were so good and worked so well, people would have no issues with it and all our leaders would have no problem living near one.

@Vonononie Mental heath isn't the issue in many if not the vast majority of these problems. Its a certain demographic that can't ever seem to get its crap together and raise their kids properly to be civilized human beings instead of violent, criminal shitty people who have little to no morals or compassion for their fellow human.

Here in Toronto, Canada they implement safe injection sites a few years back promising the public that it would be great for them as well as the addicts. All the addicts would have a safer environment to inject and supposedly this would keep these users off the streets and make it nicer and safer for the general population. Of course that never happened and its been an UTTER DISASTER. All the addicts now hang in and around those sites and dealers are there just outside ready to sell to these users. Many of these addicts leave their needles and other drug stuff on the streets and in parks which is what SJS were suppose to reduce. These addicts as well as other assorted mentally ill people are now a danger to the public between aggressive begging, increased robberies and stealing, random attacks and simply causing a scene because they feel like it. I'm glad I live in the suburbs so that I don't have to deal with any of that crap, but it does suck for anyone who has to live or go downtown regularly and have to be careful around all the crazy and violent people these days.

@angryatheist Maybe you've never heard of these little couple of inventions called the TV and internet? On the TV on the nightly news they tend to report on things like these when the problem is getting bigger and on the internet all you have to do is go on the Toronto subreddit and read the posts by people who actually DO live in downtown and especially around the areas where these injection sites are and see if they're very happy about how all the addicts are hanging out in their neighborhoods now. But hey lets ignore all the evidence and not trust what I say simply because 'I don't live there'. This is about as dumb as not believing shootings and violence aren't on the rise in Toronto as well simply because you haven't seen it with your own eyes.

@angryatheist almost like the extended lockdowns and subsequent economic downturn has had a direct effect on crime rates world wide wouldn’t you say Maybe where you live might be the case, but not where I live. In Toronto we've had 6 consecutive years of 400+ shootings where 2014 and before we averaged mostly below 300 and it looks like 2022 will be the 7th straight year of 400+ shootings. The pandemic had nothing to do with the increases in crime, just the absolute refusal of our politicians and the justice system to hold criminals accountable and to get violent and dangerous people off the streets. Our leaders and media are all cowards and are too afraid to deal with this problem because of the demographics of people involved. This is what happens in every city where you let certain people run wild and don't put your foot down and say enough is enough.

@wiseass2149 I wish people like you would be FORCED to live side by side in Baltimore with the very people you defend for a minimum of 2 years and then see if you don't come back with a radically different opinion? I bet you will.

@Henry-lk2be Cops have their problems, but look at the kinds of people they have to deal with on a daily basis. Most people would eventually have a bad opinion of certain groups of people if everyday you have to stop them from committing crime, violence and murder. I bet you a trillion dollars that if you brought the nicest, kindest most tolerant police force in the world and had them work in US cities like Baltimore for a few years, they'll quickly turn into the same cops that many US cops are now.

@American_Goku I live in Charlotte NC and it's pretty peaceful here I looked it up and Charlotte has a murder rate of like 11 per 100,000 which is over double the national average. THAT'S considered a 'safe' city?? OK.
