So if the Ukrainians don't push significantly deep into Russian held territory during this offensive then its deemed a failure, BUT if the Ukrainians are making good progress and the Russians are falling back then its called a trap laid by the genius Russians to lure the Ukrainians in for the inevitable counterattack that will crush them? Ok. I guess we'll see what happens in the coming weeks.

  2. Several months ago the Russians were supposed to have crushed most of the Ukrainian forces in the east with the massive 'cauldron' encirclement that never came. Heck the Russians couldn't even close the gap and cut off the Ukrainians in the much smaller Lysychansk salient a couple of months ago when many said that they should've retreated sooner to avoid being encircled and even then the Russians couldn't surround those UA forces. But now we're suppose to believe that FINALLY the Russians will surround these UA forces who are on the offensive? I guess we'll see in the coming weeks.
