Step 1 - remove the black population Step 2 - bring in white and various asian people Step 3 - wait 5 years Step 4 - return to East St. Louis to find a thriving, peaceful community that's continuing to get better Step 5 - do this for every other rundown place in the US and see many communities return to their former glory or become even better than they ever were

Cairo in the Egyptian way sounds so much better than 'Cay-ro'.

@STLBLUES100 Like in the vast majority of poor rundown areas its up to the people who live there to decide whether or not they want to at least try and make their communities to be have decent places to live in and when it comes to one demographic of people, they choose to not care and consistently turn their areas into violent crapholes that will decline and decay and they won't give one damn about it.

Just choose a part of the US that has the highest white or asian population and you'll be fine. 👍👍👍

The US is a much older country than Kuwait and America has plenty of wood everywhere. Concrete wasn't widely available 150-200 years ago while wood and stone was plentiful so people build with those resources. Also simply building with concrete isn't enough to protect against all natural disasters. We just saw in Turkey how you need to have anti-earthquake measures built into buildings in order for them to not collapse.

You can't fix anything in Gary or in many other similar cities like it until you remove all the violent and criminal people so that you can build and maintain what you've created. If an area is safe and peaceful then there's a chance that new people will move in and rebuild that town or city into something better. If you have criminals and violent people running around then what's the point when they'll likely cause problems and destroy everything you took so much time to put up.

More like welcome to anywhere in the entire world that's too blackified.

Hard to believe there are any 'good parts' when you have the highest murder rate in the entire country. Places that are actually nice don't have you feeling scared 24/7 while being there that you might be a victim of crime at anytime.

@jonlilley9288 I agree with you but in clearing the slum and abandoned buildings the hope is that you clear the problem people at the same time. It may clear out some of the problem people, but you have to have a strong security presence to keep them away permanently otherwise many will just come back which will defeat the effort in trying to rebuild a rundown place like Gary. Bring back hardcore law and order and things would get vastly better not just in Gary, but in many other US cities that are currently plagued with crime and violence. Some people just don't want to be helped or are beyond help and its time to get them away from decent, peaceful people by any means necessary.
