@guillesrl7569 Could we not ague that a larger supply of workers, with no unions and with lower comp demands, will actually lower the cost of construction and therefore actually help solve the housing crisis? A larger supply of workers who are willing to take less to work will lower the wages for many other Canadians and also people's standards of living. Also this only works if developers weren't building the majority of new housing for people with money rather than making it affording for the average person and the poor. If a developer builds a 300 unit condo tower, you'd be lucky to have a few dozen that were made 'affordable' while the rest would be sold to those with cash to spare. The only way to make sure the majority if not all 300 units were affordable is if the government built them specifically to be affordable housing to begin with and with no intention of making any profit off of them.

@joecater894 its not that they won't work ... its that there isn't enough of them being born and the next gen either... all the while the elderly are growing. This is why you spend the money to help the elderly now WITHOUT increasing the population dramatically and when they eventually pass on the next generation of people retiring will be smaller which means you'll have to spend less to support them. Also look at how much technology, science, engineering etc. has advanced in just the last 20 years. There's no reason not to believe that in the next 20 years that many jobs will be automated and won't require workers anymore which means you won't need as many people to keep a nation running.
