@Joe Smith Russia is pretty far from winning when you look at it from a strategic level. Ukraine is forever lost to the Russian sphere of influence and they will only get closer to the EU and the west as the years go by and I wouldn't be surprised if and when they eventually join NATO and the EU. As well Russia while gaining significant territory has failed in capturing the entirety of Ukraine and installing a puppet leader and government similar to what's in Belarus. At the end of the day Russia has gained a decent portion of Ukraine and its questionable if it was worth all the lives lost, money spent and equipment destroyed that will take many years to replenish. The silver lining in all this is that Russia's neighbors likely won't have to fear the Russians as much in the coming years because they've been severely weakened by the war.

@firstnamerequiredlastnameo3473 The Russians did indeed start out with a huge amount of things and they are indeed slowly running out which is why you're seeing tanks and IFVs from the 50s and 60s being used. Can you ever imagine the US army running out of armored vehicles to the point that they're using tanks and IFVs from the 50s-60s as front line vehicles? I certainly can't.

@darkfox-wr9bu * Yeah, but Ukraine canceled the peace deal thanks to Boris Johnson.* What was in this so called 'peace deal' that would benefit Ukraine? If its very little to nothing then it was a deal that was rightfully rejected. No matter how costly this current war is its better to fight it once than to fight it repeatedly as we've seen since 2014. The ONLY path to permanent long term peace and security for Ukraine is to join NATO so that they can never again be invaded without NATO forces coming to help them in full force.

The only path to long term peace is for the west to give all the equipment and supplies they have to Ukraine so that they can fight better and shorten this war with a decisive victory. After that let Ukraine join NATO ASAP and then we'll finally see long term peace again.

@gfys756 One day this war will come to an end one way or another and at that time Ukraine can join NATO. I would be very surprised to see it end like North/South Korea where there's no official peace treaty of some sort that ends the conflict and we're simply left with an ongoing war that becomes low intensity indefinitely.

@Hunter_J_Biden So Luka became Putin's bootlicker afterwards then. Same thing. Belarus is married to the Russians and now cannot escape from them, not without getting invaded just like Ukraine did however unlike Ukraine they don't have the population, the territory or the army to fight back with.

@gfys756 I see the outcome being similar to a Berlin Wall 2.0. The eastern part of Ukraine will most likely remain under Russian control. I think it would be very bad if the Ukrainians couldn't regain at least southern Ukraine up to Mariupol. And its probably a pipe dream, but if they could somehow retake Crimea as well then losing the Donbass region would hurt somewhat less. But realistically if they could at least regain most of southern Ukraine and all that coastline before trying to negotiate for peace then perhaps things won't be as bad. If they can't then they shouldn't stop fighting and become like the Vietcong or Taliban and try and outlast their opponent.
