@re-replied It's social, economical etc problem. Why even say this when its been proven wrong over and over everywhere? Namely its ALWAYS the same couple of demographics of people who are committing probably 90-95% of all shootings and stabbings in the city and the vast majority of other violent crimes here? There are poor people living in the GTA from all over the world here and yet its ALWAYS the same couple of groups we see committing all these crimes. Everytime I hear yet another person say 'its a societal, economic problem etc' I laugh at the absurdity of that statement when so many other demographics of people can somehow be poor and NOT have their kids committing armed robberies, car jackings, drive bys etc. This is why all the crime and violence problems are getting worse and nothing will be done about it. Because all our politicians, the media and the justice system refuse to hold certain demographics who are overwhelmingly responsible for all these violent crimes accountable for their actions because that would be 'racist'.

Even if that magically worked and gun crime went down, what about all the hundreds of stabbings happening in our city every year as well? How are you going to control the millions of knives that are available everywhere? Maybe JUST maybe this isn't a gun or knife control problem, but a demographic control problem.

6 out of last 7 years Toronto has averaged more than a shooting a day including an all time record high of almost 500 in 2019. Hundreds of stabbings a year as well including increasingly more often in schools and on public transit. Carjackings and car thefts at record levels to the point that our government needs to hold a 'car theft summit' because they can't ignore the problem anymore. However despite all these increases in crime and violence some people will still say it isn't that bad because the huge increases in population covers up the huge increases in crime.

This has NEVER been a gun problem. This has ALWAYS been a demographic problem.

@re-replied Lets be real. Even at the height of crime and violence committed by Italians and other Europeans, it was NEVER EVER this bad. When has Toronto in its entire history ever had 350-400+ shootings a year where 95% of them were committed by Italians or groups of Europeans? How about NEVER? Yet this is what we're living with every year since a certain couple of demographics started populating our cities in large numbers.
