@CAJames902 Mental asylums are basically prisons for the mentally ill. The mentally ill get can treatment for their issues AWAY from the general public. There's NO REASON why the average person needs to have their lives threatened by unstable people just because idiot 'advocates' say they have rights. Well what about the rights of the general public and their right to go out and not feel unsafe because we have violent and mentally ill and addicts walking around and making the public space their homes? If these advocates care so much about these people then force them to take in these drug/alcohol addicts and mentally ill INTO THEIR OWN PERSONAL HOMES. Let them put their money where their mouths are and have all these bleeding heart advocates take care of these people themselves. Canada's "free" Healthcare is great for birthing babies, and getting that antibiotic they push for every infection. But for your dental, mental, optical, etc, we are far behind most developed countries. Maybe Canada's healthcare would be better if Trudeau and his party didn't insist on bringing in hundreds of thousands of immigrants and refugees into the country every single year. Imagine having healthcare, affordable housing, social services etc. problems and thinking its a good idea to bring in MORE PEOPLE every year to place even more of a burden on those services? What a brilliant idea!! 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄

This is the kind of idiotic policies you get from progressive politicians who listen far too much to 'homeless activists' and other assorted SJWs. If the government had any courage to do what's right to keep the general population safe, they could clean up all the crappy parts of downtown Vancouver in a couple of weeks max. Move all the homeless into facilities to give them a bed and meals and take care of them. Move all the violent and mentally ill people into institutions to treat them and keep them away from the public. Move all the drug/alcohol addicts to treatment programs and those that choose not to there should be no free needles and personnel to save their asses if they overdose. They made the choice, let them live with the consequences. If the government had the balls to implement such measures, Vancouver could be cleared out of the homeless and addicts and be cleaned up in no time instead of being a perpetual dump that will likely never get better.

Maybe the housing crisis wouldn't be nearly as bad if we didn't constantly take in hundreds of thousands of immigrants and refugees into the country every year and making the housing problem even worse. Imagine the solution to the housing problem is bringing in MORE people to add to that issue. Trudeau's intelligence at work here.
