@62Cristoforo That's the facts though. A border that's not really enforced allowing massive amounts of illegals in who immediately suck up valuable money and resources that should be used to help Canada's own population that's already in dire need of those resources. When most of Canada's homeless people are housed and taken care of THEN maybe think about bringing in small amounts of new people. How about that?

@fallenangel7884 That's the thing. People who advocate for more refugees to come to Canada SHOULD BE FORCED to house all these people in their own homes and cover all their costs out of their own pockets. Make it a simple rule. Anyone who supports having more refugees coming into the country needs to put up their home and their own money to support these people. If it turns out that there's only say 100 Canadians willing to support refugees and they can only house 300 collectively, then that's how many should be allowed in for that year. Everyone else gets turned away. No more free charity to people who just come to our nation illegal looking for free stuff. Imagine if you're a person applying legally to come to Canada and live here and eventually become a citizen? How does it feel to know that you could've skipped all that crap and simply crossed the border from the US and be allowed to stay and receive help just like that?

The thing is if our government and our population were smart we should be only pro LEGAL immigration and only at low amounts per year and we should stop allowing in refugees except for special cases. People who walk across the border from the US or enter Canada by other means and then demand to be taken care of should be deported ASAP. The sad thing is this will never happen because our politicians don't care about the well being of Canada and its current population.

@fallenangel7884 Don't think you can compare things that happened decades and centuries ago to present day. The first Europeans that came here weren't 'refugees' they were settlers who created communities out of nothing. Present day refugees are often looking to leech off of someone else's hard work because they're completely incapable of establishing any kind of peaceful, stable society in their home countries. If these people had enough intelligence, work ethic and the ability to come together with their fellow countrymen to build something better in their home countries they would've done so a long time ago. The fact is they can't which is why they flee to nations that CAN do this. That hurts their home countries manpower drain and it hurts countries like Canada who can't even properly take care of a large portion of its own population and raise the standard of living for everyone. Also you do realize that if Canada goes into decline that its bad for not just Canadians but for people around the world as well right? A strong, healthy Canada is more able to help the world than one that's having massive internal problems that aren't taken care of.

Can someone explain how it costs 100 MILLION DOLLARS to house these refugees for only a few months?!?!?!?! Are we putting them up in 5 star hotels and serving them gourmet meals!?!? How is it not possible to buy up a few properties with large buildings, renovate it and put in all the services needed to help refugees and have that be a permanent solution and not have it cost 100 million and be cheaper in the long term? How is it possible to have already spent like 200 million on these people and still have this problem?

@karendrakes136 Have you seen the video of those people outside that shelter in Toronto?? Most don't look very educated at all and who knows how hardworking they will be rather than sucking on Canadian taxpayer money for months if not years on end.
