LCBO in the last 5 years made like 6 BILLION in net profit for the province. Only people who would benefit from privatization are corporations much like privatizing the 407 and Hydro benefited private corporations and has been a disaster for the public.

@Gary-l6o Yes and those taxes you pay on the alcohol goes towards paying for paying for the services that you enjoy like healthcare and maintaining infrastructure. Sure the government isn't perfect in how it spend taxpayer money, but its good that its going towards services that we use rather than not funding those things at all and becoming more like the US.

@Gary-l6o Healthcare is a joke because our government is allowing far too many people into the country so that all our infrastructure is overloaded and can't handle that amount of new people in such a short time. Also it doesn't help that the healthcare system is being poorly run and no one seems to be interested in making huge changes that could streamline and make the system more efficient and responsive than it is now. The system is so use to doing things as they are now and doctors are so protective of their turf that any new suggestions to improve the way things work is always met with resistance. Also privatization is NEVER the solution for healthcare because private companies WILL ALWAYS try their best to maximize profits and this is one industry where it shouldn't be profit driven. If it were me I'd have a GOVERNMENT run 2nd tier service where people with money could pay to get faster service, HOWEVER that money would then go back into government pockets instead of private companies.
