@JOIHIINI Taking away the incentive to purchase property with the purpose to rent does not increase rental units it decreases them, and driving costs up for the people providing the service doesn't bring rent down. The government should take away the ability of organizations from buying multiple homes and condo units so that the general public have a chance at buying them. They should also make it MUCH more expensive for anyone to own more than one home under their name and make sure there aren't loopholes that people can exploit to try and get around it. Also the government should create its own construction company with the purpose of building actual affordable housing and major infrastructure projects. The government can afford to build these types of projects without the need to make a significant profit off of it so the costs should go down and also with more oversight maybe things will be built on time for a change compared to handing off these projects to private companies who constantly waste taxpayer money and take many years more to deliver on what they promised. Time to stop using those companies and build a crown construction company that can take on these major public projects and deliver them on time and close to on budget.
