ITS ALWAYS the same suspooks. That's why we're always surprised when a shooting or stabbing doesn't involve that group of people.

@mikeb5664 If our government isn't blaming legal gun owners, then why are practically all the laws geared towards legal gun ownership and very little to combat illegal guns and the criminals who use them? The banning of 'assault style weapons' does nothing when the vast majority of shootings in Canadian cities involve handguns of which the overwhelming majority are smuggled in from the US. Its well known that native reserves that border the US have been easy routes for illegal guns to flow in Canada from down south and yet we do relatively little to stop that flow. Also why isn't there harsh punishment for gun related crimes including mandatory sentences for those kinds of crimes? How many people would carry a gun if merely being caught with a firearm without a license would mean an automatic year in jail? I bet many criminals would think twice about carrying a gun if it meant automatic jail time.

@AngeloBarovierSD The most consistent correlation for street crime is poverty and means. And the most consistent correlations for poverty are socio-economic (including education, my pet issue) not the police budget. This is A BOLD FACE LIE and I don't know why people keep repeating it when its proven to be A BOLD FACE LIE. Ask yourself do you really believe that in all of Toronto that only ONE OR TWO demographics of people are living in poverty and that there aren't multiple demographics of people who are poor in this city? If you acknowledge that many different demographics of people live in poverty then please explain why all these other demographics of people aren't committing all these shootings, stabbings or other violent crimes the same way these couple of groups of people are constantly doing? Why is it ALWAYS the same couple of groups committing the vast majority of these violent crimes while other poor people aren't? If you could remove these couple of problem groups of people from Toronto, the number of shootings and stabbings along with every other category of violent crime in this city would drop to historic low levels overnight. That's how much of a problem a couple of groups are in this city and in the GTA.
