  1. The United States has NEVER had a Civil War. The Confederate States declared their INDEPENDENCE. They didn't try to overthrow the U.S. government. The U.S. military didn't invade the Confederacy to "free the slaves". They invaded to keep the Confederacy from being independent. This "historian" is very ignorant.
