  1. I applied to the LAPD after the Rodney King riots. I went through several stages of the hiring process. I called the recruiter after waiting for the next step. He asked, "What race are you?" I answered, "White". He actually said, "I'm sorry. We have to process all the minorities first." I was never contacted for the next level of processing.
