Why is that? Why do so many people move here from Portugal and Brazil?

  8. We try to be, but the REAL problem is how government and corporations have conspired to drive to cost up to push us into single-payer health care. That has been the goal since the turn of the 20th century. This is artificial inflation.

  10. Its similar to free military protection, thanks to NATO. Who funds the greatest proportion of NATO? The United States! Why should the United States risk their sons, daughters and wealth to protect some obscure arctic hinterland that is sweden? Remember: NATO was the only thing preventing Sweden from being another Soviet Oblast! Thats why nordic countries could have a high standard of living. They didnt have to invest so much in military expenditures to prevent being invaded by other nations.

  11. Im glad you are doing well, but why wasnt it free for you? Like everyone else has pointed out, were you consulted beforehand that you would need to be moved and at what expense? were you allowed to sign a contract indemnifying yourself? And when EVERYTHING else in your system is free*( dental & eye care and others). Why would you be expected to pay that bill? I am being a bit facetious. My ex wife is Canadian. She has lived in every western province, so i am a bit familiar with the trials & travails of the health service there. In fact, when my ex immigrated to the US, she had been taken a medication for a mental health ailment prescribed at a large university hospital in the prairies. When she tried to get that medication here, our health pros were SHOCKED! that medication hadnt been prescribed in the US for almost 30 yrs! Obviously she couldnt get it, but she responded better to the newer medication prescribed in the US, so it worked out!

  12. Our medical was 'intentionally' broken. All the laws intended to 'fix' things have made things demonstrably more expensive and tedious. it was done to push us into a single-payer. We have Obama care, which was to fix our system, but was rolled out with key problems that were to break it further. its called designed obsolescence! And it is working as intended.

  20.  @byrongsmith  This is over simplification, ad nauseum. So which political-economic system is devoid of corruption? Secondly, the US isnt a capitalist country! It hasnt been for quite a while! certain sectors are capitalist, generally, but the government is clearly Keynesian, and our government has tentacles in almost every aspect of our lives, that impedes pure market capitalism from working its powers. And it was like that from its founding! The rich Europeans compromised our intended system from its infancy.

  21. But isnt ALL your healthcare free? you shouldnt have to pay one pfenning for any health related expenses! And since food is health related, that should be free also! And housing! And what good is health care if you are homeless! This should be free too!
