  2.  @FOG703 Are you SURE about this? We were just informed that cops (professional life savers) are not required to render assistance if I need assistance, but we are going to hold a regular untrained citizen to a higher standard than a cop? I just dont see that charge holding in 2023!

  5.  @mannerheim6208 Not necessarily. They are going to fight for survival. Many higher ranked Germans turned against their own government. That wouldnt always be easy to do for lower ranked soldiers & civilians who would often be seen as a burden on precious resources. Many, many people simply fought for survival between the 2 evils. Much the way many of us feel today in our political systems.

Only the generations that actually remember the war (very few of them these days) actually hold a white hot hatred for our former enemies descendants. We have new enemies we are being conditioned to hate. Not least of all our own countrymen & women.

  15. Its easy to say when you are NOT in the position to die like that. Is there a more horrible way to die than to be burned alive? It conjures a primal fear in us. We hope there is no 2nd time to test these measure, but humans are 'unlucky' (careless) creatures! No one will be criticizing these measures should a 2nd time happen.

I doesnt seem like it based on your comment! Any civilian loss of life is unfortunate. Total war is total BS. But its time to keep in the past what is past. The tragic loss of precious German lives is still a tragedy, whether you have the good sense to see this or not!

  42. The driver escaped out the Italian side (the safer side). Those controlling the tunnel were blowing more air into the tunnel from the Italian side and it was coming out the French side. Honestly, those on the French side had essentially no chance at survival.

  44. You are just as much the fool as any! Learn a little psychology: Fight, flight or freeze is are typical human responses to unknown situations. How many people do you think practiced a fire drill in that tunnel prior to this accident? Plus it was dark inside, as the electricity went out (do you carry a flash light powerful enough to get you through a completely dark tunnel? But alas, you are the smartest person with ALL the right answers! When can we make you the President/Prime Minister?
