We already paid, we had a massive loan in 1833 to free the slaves from their owners, even though the vast majority of the British never owned any slaves, it was taken from taxpayers money, it was finally paid off in 2015. We also paid with our navy and lives at sea, to stop the slave ships and free the slaves onboard, we also helped put a stop the evil slave trade. We also give billions in foreign aid every year, of taxpayers money. We are not paying twice! Britain is in nearly £3 trillion worth of debt rising daily, where people get the idea we are a rich country are total dreamers, we are not, we run on debt and are collapsing!

  2. 'What price freedom?' Was the price we paid for their freedoms not enough? The slave owners who had purchased the slaves, were out of pocket, so would not release and free them, unless they were compensated for their loss of money. We paid that price to free the slaves. They need to go back to their African governments and ask for reparations from those countries, African kings and tribal leaders who enslaved and sold them to others around the world. Proven descendants of slaves should be given a piece of land in Africa with a house built on it, by the African governments of the African countries who participated in selling their own people into slavery.
