  1. If they were really bothered about climate change they would stop cutting down the ancient rain forests. When forests are cut down, much of that stored carbon is released into the atmosphere again as carbon dioxide (CO2). This is how deforestation and forest degradation contribute to global warming. A handful of international logging companies are cutting down the rainforests at record rates. Every year around the world, seven million hectares of ancient forest are logged, cleared or severely degraded. They are responsible for causing it.
