@jackrainbow560 does it matter? Did Starmer announce his plans for British farmers prior to the election?
1
@quercus3290 incorrect, the uk has very strict laws regarding what farmers can do with their crops in regards to chemical use and genetic manipulation. If you were talking about American farmers I’d agree.
1
@frankmcginley incorrect, they’ll base it on the value of the land and property, that’ll include all small farms as well. You seem to think all farmers are taking in the cash, sadly that is not true, even for the larger farms. Unlike America or Australia British farms aren’t that large or profitable.
1
@Popsickle34 how have they bypassed the system exactly?
1
@Popsickle34 or get rid of the inheritance tax altogether? Unlike you though, they won’t profit from their inheritance as they will continue to work the farm and not sell it, plus it will be their only property. You’ll inherit a second property thus the tax.
1
@Bereadyalways123 unfortunately most people can’t do that.
1
@JohnSmith-bx8zb you’ve obviously forgotten the eu has been treating their farmers even worse.
1
@ADHDIYuk rubbish. Idiotic comment based on a ridiculous hatred and envy of those you think are rich. Pathetic.
1
@ how is it nonsense?
1
@ good luck to you mate, be sure to learn all you can about you chosen destination before you go, lots of horror stories about expats having to come back. I wish you the best buddy, d love to do the same but life threw me too many curve balls so I doubt I’ll be able to.
1
@ how? The eu has been at war with European farmers for years, had we stayed, the same would’ve happened here years ago. Maybe you should look into what the eu has been doing and why European farmers have been protesting before you make another foolish comment. In the meantime, list all the benefits of eu membership for the uk!
1
@davidlee8115 you think they don’t? Proves you know nothing about farms at all.
1
@nichotto prove it.
1
@jjefferyworboys8138 as have all politicians and civil servants, gonna bitch about them too?
1
@natrixxirtan will that tractor be useful? How much is a brand new tractor these days? Do you know?
1
@natrixxirtan dumbest comment so far. Police stations and fire stations in London are on extremely valuable land, can you think of a reason why they haven’t been closed a sold off?
1
@davidlee8115 they don’t, that’s the issue.
1
@nichotto you’re really not that smart are you? Only 20% of those that voted voted for Labour and that is not a fraction of the overall population as most didn’t vote. Look into what the eu has done to the European farmers before you sing their praises. I’ll ask you what I ask all europhiles, maybe you’ll be the first to answer, Please list all of the benefits for the uk with eu membership?
1
@ nobody has said it isn’t legitimate at all, don’t make things up like you did about brexit. People are only stating the facts in regards to the percentages just like you do with the referendum results. Labour got 20% of the vote but it doesn’t mean 20% of the population voted for them does it so stop suggesting it does.
1
@ as for brexit, though it hasn’t been fully implemented the country is definitely financially better off as a result. As the effects of the pandemic continue to dissipate the financial gains will become more obvious to all. Again I ask, What are the actual Benefits of eu membership for the uk? Don’t say trade as we still trade with Europe. Don’t say travel as we and they can still travel to each other’s countries easily. Don’t say work, Europeans can still and do still come to the uk to work. Now provide your list. Obviously when you don’t we’ll all know you can’t as there isn’t anything to list.
1
Has everyone forgotten the treatment European farmers got from the eu? It was very much like what Starmer is doing. Begs the question, is Starmer getting orders from Brussels?
