Well, as far as they both are ultranationalists, and constantly hunting for traitors, I don't think that it is a good thing to live in any of their societies.

The real problem is not there. Some of the sanctions will have serious impact, but not because russian products at all. When the west started to weaponize monetary systems, they frightened the shit out of any non aligned country as well. From this point on, it is no matter, how big the US economy is, USD simply can't be the world hard currency, because it can be weaponized against anyone. SWIFT cant be the basis of bank transaction, because there is political will behind it. That means that a new system will be created and accepted instead of those, and that is a huge problem, as long as the west is living mostly on of these systems, and building financial capitals.

@DetroitMicroSound Anyone who knew the germans during WWII knew their capacity to brag about some wunderwaffe, which will change the whole course of war, when they got themselves in dire situations.

Of course Pentagon is overplaying, it is not an indie newspaper, it is a state institution, so by definition biased. The problem is not there, the problem is that newspapers overplaying even when they know exactly, that they spread propaganda.

@rickc661 Actually there wouldn't even be a Czech republic, if it wasn't considered by Britain and France, that Czechs are living in Austrian land 20 years before Hitler.

I don't know about NATO, but I know most of the Europeans just want this thing to be over. This is already a huge cost for us, and will be an even bigger cost in the future. Yep we will rebuild Ukraine, but the less money we have, the more destruction takes place the longer it will take. We don't play chess.
