This commentary has came out from an opposition MP of Orban, the former secretary of state of EU integration. I thought I will share it.
If we want to talk seriously and responsibly about the affairs of the union, we have to admit that
this European Union is no longer the peaceful, solidary, economically prosperous organization we entered two decades ago.
The European Community was created after the Second World War as a peace treaty, with the cooperation of Social Democracy and Christian Democracy. The former aimed at the realization of a social Europe, the latter at the fulfillment of Christian personalism. The role of the liberal parties was insignificant compared to the two big forces, and they mostly tried to curb social and environmental protection initiatives in the interest of big capital. The Greens, which appeared later, were initially more left-wing and pacifist than the Socdems. I dealt with EU affairs professionally for twenty years, but I never heard that the EU is a liberal organization and that everyone who is not liberal is an extremist.
At the beginning of the 2000s, when we became members, the EU cooperated with Russia, supported trade with China, prepared to admit Turkey, and tried to come to terms with Iran. He was able to maintain a balance between Israel and the Palestinians. During the Iraq war, the two leading member states openly and self-consciously condemned the American intervention. During the Russo-Georgian war, Nicolas Sarkozy created peace in five days as president of the union. The EU was well on its way to becoming one of the world's leading powers economically and politically. A community that builds on the social market economy and the diversity of cultures in contrast to American-style capitalism and autocratic systems in the East.
Today's EU has unfortunately taken a different path with its armed support of the war in Ukraine, its staunch rejection of peace, and its rejection of Turkey. With its current leadership, it could easily drift into a possible American-Chinese war, which is being prepared by the conscious downsizing of European-Chinese economic relations. The countries of the Global South, and especially the Muslim states, increasingly dislike the policy of the Union dictated by the USA. Within Europe, social democratic, Christian democratic and green values ββare gradually being blended into a rigid and impatient ideology, according to some kind of liberal formula.

Im quite sure the moment Ukraine joins NATO, we will declare neutrality. Even if Ukraine would be a perfect country, there would be no reason to remain in if all of our neighbours are members. Our borders are protected that way, and we don't need to go to the American safaris into the deserts. Our soldiers talked to Afghanis, Iraquis, made some good relations with them, they really did not understand, wtf are we doing there, our population didn't understand it either, now they want us to go against Russians and Chinese, whom we have no problems with whatsoever. '56 was the Soviet Union, not Russia, and we long forgave that. We just want to live peacefully. BTW Habsburgs, the Austro Hungarian dynasty, are living in Hungary today, they cant set foot to Austria anymore, which is kindof ridiculous. We respect them, they are wise people.

Lol we already have the protests in Hungary. US is attacking on two fronts, they try to inflate the teacher's strike movement, but in the case it wouldnt work, there is a chinese company who wants to build a battery factory in Hungary, and they collected everyone from the greens to the racist bigots into one umbrella again, to destroy it. We have a nice little periodical called 444, or as some of us calls it the voice of Washington, funded by NED, and the usual guys, whoever they paint the crosshairs tends to be the new general direction of attack. We really like the Americans, but we know, that they have no military or business interests around here, thats acceptable for us, but we wont give up our wealth for beautiful words.
