I dont want to sadden you but heavy cavalry, pretty much similar to the European knights was first described by Alexander the Great, as a persian fighting force, then it was applied by the Partians against Roman forces, byzantines adapted it to the Cataphractoi troops and THEN you got the western european medieval knights. It wouldnt even be possible before Carolingian times, because western Europe didnt really know or use stirrups on their horses, and without that simple thing a knight is not battleworthy. If it would try to use its sword or joust in a cavalry charge, and not fixed properly to the horse, he would just fly off the horse at the impact with the enemy.

And native people owned the lands from which they were stripped off, so they are entitled to reinmbursement, and thats the cheaper way, because they could just say to all immigrants to go home.

  25. The problem is, you consider medieval europe as some part of western Europe. It isnt even western Europe in general, because Umayyad caliphate posessed half of the iberian peninsula, where literally was what you describe north african merchants and christians doing business, but in Eastern Europe it was even more prevalent, since the Byzantine empire actually owned half of the middle east, and of course every nationality and race was present in Constantinople. The western bias is, that movies and even historians generally dont give a damn to those places, meanwhile those were the biggest players in medieval europe. Thats because classical historians dont give a damn about middle ages, middle age historians are focused on catholic western europe, and orthodox nations are put to the oriental side, and islamic nations arent interested in making research on the history of a christian country.

  27. Well, if colonizers would appreciate foreign cultures, they wouldnt pillage massacre and destroy them. That was the general case, with very few exceptions. Im quite sure they admired China up until a point, but handled all the other cultures as inferior. Not based around race but religion, they werent christians.
