I didnt find any evidence about your claims that Austrians did know or suspect that Seria is not guilty in the assasination plot. On the contrary, in the Sarajevo and Saloniki trials, they kind of found evidence, that the Serbian military intelligence was actively involved in the assasination, support and the weapons used came from Dragutin Dimitrijević, chief of the military intelligence section of the Serbian general staff. And, with all due respect, I dont think Austrians even considered, because it doesnt really matter if a rogue group inside the Serbian military or the Serbian state itself acted. With the benefit of hindsight we can ask these questions, but for the contemporary leaders it was totally clear, that Serbia is responsible for what its military does anyway, and the kingdom of Serbia wasnt that cooperative towards Austria-Hungary to get into such conclusions at the time. Lets say in a todays example, an Iranian submarine makes a strike on the White House killing Biden. The Iranian claim it went rogue, but they refuse to let in American inspectors, or to give out the perpetrators. I would say it would be more than very likely the USA would send such an ultimatum to Iran, what Austria did to Serbia, and if it doesnt get a positive answer, it would declare war, because thats what any country would do in this situation. Questioning Austrian motives about the invasion of Serbia is a later try by the Entente propaganda to unjustify military action.
