  1. Since Szekelyland is in the center of Transylvania and its 90% Hungarian, it was a pretty fair border. But I didnt hear anything that the Romanians wants to give up their territories, so I dont know where do you get these lunatic ideas, that they would just give lands because they are such a good guys. Romania would switch sides in 44 anyway since they had no other choice.

  2. Yeh thatswhy some guys in Hungary have reservations in these sacred wars against Russians where Budapest plays the role of the last fortress before Wien, much to the pain of the Ukraine supporters. If Entente thinks Russians are the good guys, so be it, we have no objections.

  9. My granddad barely escaped the Battle of Budapest. His regiment was ordered out into the Balaton two days prior the soviets enclosed the city. They were engineering corps most likely they would detonate the bridges, but Germans had a feeling that Hungarians wouldnt necessarily obey these orders. He told these stories how he was a lucky bastard during the war, he fought with the 1st Hungarian army stationed near Pripyat, they built roads there, while the 2nd army was stationed near Voronezh and was completely annihilated by the Soviets. When the Soviets caught him he wasnt even punished or interned although he was a volunteer in the Finnish side during the Winter war, that was his only active engagement, which he talked about. How the Hungarian government smuggled them out, since the Molotov Ribbentrop pact was in force, so they couldnt travel directly to Finnland, they went as a tourist group through Britain then they were educated on skying and winter warfare. He got a state medal from the Finnish government in 1990, he was very moved.

  10. Well, historically correctly the Soviets bombed the Hungarian city of Kassa, because they mistook it to a German city, so they were the ones who started the bloodshed. freesince1776

  12. I dont remember any Hungarian being in Stalingrad. Hungarians ere stationed in Voronezh, which is actually further from Stalingrad than Paris is from Berlin. And technically the Soviets started it with the bombing of Kassa, which Stalin ackowledged was a Russian mistake in the early days of the operation Barbarossa. @DarkImplement
