@FlockOfBIRDS-k7d Then whats this shadow fleet thing is? These are just Russian ships selling Russian oil in countries which arent involved with US or EU.

Nothing in this world is free dear. If Russians sell their oil to Indians at a discount, then if the US wants anything from them, bring hard cash to the table, or f off. everyone in this world knows that the US is overextended on its sanction policies to the point that it cant really threaten anyone especially not an economic powerhouse like China or India, because the US wiould certainly lose more in such a sanction than China or India. Even if the US goes all in they can find ways to trade, gold is good enough for payments, actually better than US dollars, so if Russians sweeten it enough then these countries and companies will continue their trade because thats the logic of the market, you can do nothing about it. You guys ignoring 300 years old economic principles, these are the literal opening lines of Adam Smith's book.

Would you be suprised if I tell you that Ukrainian tanks are running on Russian oil refined in the EU? Why do you think Ukies dont close down their oil pipelines? Because they themselves would run out of diesel.

@timonsolus But that GDP is not your government's money, thatswhere you are mistaken. An average western country controls maybe 10% of its GDP, 2-3% maybe liquid. Putin or the CCP on the other hand controls 30-40% of their countries GDP. Well of course you can raise taxes, or make industries public, but I dont think those would be popular moves.

Nope Russia evaded these sanctions because they dont make any sense. You cant control who a foreign country is trading with.
