Even if some of that would happen, that wouldnt affect the economic or military aid given to Ukraine. It is a mutually beneficial cooperation between NATO and Ukraine.

@antekasic2732 Thats the choice of the Ukrainians. NATO has nothing to do with it.

It is quite well described how they use these in other channels. They use these as decoys to placate the russian air defense before a stromshadow strike.

@nigeljohnson9820 On an occasional basis yes it is possible, but they cant do a drone swarming in Moscow, because those drones which are used in these strikes by Ukraine actually launched from Russia by some of their operatives, and its not easy to smuggle and hide an entire drone swarm.

@Palmstreet-u7x What if you fly two drones with a 100 m long fishing wire between them. If one is taken down the other can tow it back. You can either attach an induction motor and a cable reel to the bottom of the rescue drone, so it can wind up the wire.

But its not the collective west who is fighting this war but common Ukrainians. While they have the will to fight we should support them. If they want peace, we should support them. Its their choice. I really dont like that we say them, that either they have to give up now, or they have to achieve some objectives before even going to the negotiating table, they dont, its their country. Whatever they decide it should be respected.

@Shaftalooooo Yep, you are right the western military system is incredibly corrupt, thats a clear given since NATO on paper sent 500 billion to Afghanistan, and it can be calculated that less than 100 billion actually arrived there, which means 400 billion was stolen in the west. Regardless its our mutual interest with Ukraine that we dont want a border with Russia, and they dont want to be annexed, which means this friendship will blossom for a very long time, because it is very grounded. We could send in troops but we dont have to Ukrainians semms quite competent.

I dont think there is too much secret on a DJI drone which you can pick up in your local store.
1
Yeah, honestly thats the storyline of the Terminator franchise. Its not a good idea.

For a short range in an open field I would attach a rope to the drone, and would simply tow it back if its jammed. Stone age solution, but maybe works in sometimes. Hope that helps if some soldiers want to try it out.
1
Well, if the Ukrainians wish to pay for it, like they do for their DJI drones, then everything is possible. I guess most western militaries have way better, military grade drones than these toys.

Do these have a real compass, or a GPS based compass?
1
@nigeljohnson9820 The question is how would the drone differentiate between the jamming signal and the regular control signal. Of course it can be solved lets say if the control signal has an encrypted key which identifies it as a friend. Of course Im totally amateur to drones, or military jamming so this is just an educated guess. On long range thes operate through the internet I guess so there is no difference between connections lost due to some regular event, or enemy jamming.

@beyondfossil If the radio signal is so strong then you dont need an actual drone just two rotatable directional antennas, those can triangulate the position of the source, and you can order the artillery strike.
1
Lol. I hope they wont machine gun ukrainians.
1
@stuartx7865 Well, I guess we wont know the difference.
