Literally they are publishing papers about how to restore their empire. I kinda liked Americans, but nowadays they are a meh.   10. ​@Craig Steddy Yes thats a correct standpoint, but actually everyone has a right to withdraw from it, it requires a 3 month notification prior to the decision. Just it is generally not liked by superpowers if some nation does it, and they start some sanctioning, but legally anyone could do it. Im quite sure Australia has the expertise to produce weapons grade plutonium, weapons grade uranium would be a little bit trickier, it requires a ton of separation.

Actually I looked it up, and the Nonproliferation treaty states, that the subs have to be constantly available for inspection by the IAEA, so that it is guaranteed that their fuel is not utilized for nuclear weapons. Good luck by making a mission lasting a 100 day in the ocean that way. Besides they have to provide access to UN approved inspectors, yes potentially Chinese and Russian inspectors to every single bit of the system, and there is no excuse, that something is classified technology. So giving this stuff to a non nuclear state in itself is not violating the treaty, but Australia will 100% violate it if they will use these subs.

  17.  @balung  They did not invade Tibet my dear, the dalai lamas were so busy to kill each other, so the tibetans specifically asked for Chinese political control in the 17. century, and that was perfectly OK for them until 1900, when the Brits invented this idea to form a separate country, but they were under Chinese political control back then. They only had one really independent leader, the current Dalai lama, which lasted for 15 years, and even he admitted, that Tibet should be controlled by the Chinese, and only asked religious autonomy. It wasn't wise, that he was expelled, but thats a different story.

  20. Because to own highly enriched uranium is a very shaky ground, according to the NPT. Yes Australia absolutely has the right to own it, but in that case they must be avaiable for inspection without notice, and there are no classified systems. And honestly in practice noone can operate a nuclear sub under those conditions, so it is hardcoded, that Australia will violate the NPT.

  23. Australia by no way has the capacities to enrich uranium to weapon grade, and its nuclear reactors are not capable to produce weapons grade plutonium, so they can't build a bomb.

First of all against active sonar there is no protection, thatswhy sub hunters are constntly pinging secondly they are quiet when they are extremely slow, but that would mean months to reach a designated patrol area. And if they are in shallow waters they can be seen by satellites.

  29. Start agreement is a bilateral agreement between the US and Russia. China has nothing to do with it.Besides that was the last big agreement, the ABM treaty was cancelled by Bush, the middle range missile treaty was cancelled by Trump. But that does not mean, that the Russians can start to build nukes as crazy, in the NPT they actually promised, that they won't increase their nuclear stockpiles.

The lines are drawn that way. And I guess if you would learn from your past, then you wouldn't say such things that they should be thankful to the US for anything. You made bioweapons research on their children,deliberately infected cities with smallpox, bombed Nanking with phosphorous bombs, and you can't say that you are sorry for that. Thats the bare minimum. The Taiwanese too. And you are not that strong on democracy at all, as far as I know you had a single party ruling you for 40 years, well that definitely doesn't sound democratic.

Even worse, US laws don't let any military or financial aid to a country which posess nuclear warheads. Thatswhy Israel has to hide them.
