No dear, the true story is, that Latvians asked the help of the boyars to chase out their german elite during the 19th century, who in return stayed there, thatshow they became part of the Russian empire. They switched sides, perfectly OK, but it wasnt Stalin who brought Russians there, and they are there since a few hundred years. And its never a good solution to fck off with an ethnic or religious minority, didnt you learn from the North Ireland things, especially if the ethnic minority's bigbrother is a goddamn nuclear superpower? Latvians are indeed endangering the entire European safety with their moves, on very dubious moral grounds, so they provoke out a war, then what should we do? Die so that they can eradicate their russians? Not too convincing, I dont think anyone can sell such a war to his country's general populace. I would highly recommend for the Latvians, if they are afraid of Russia, then be as clean as the snow morally, because then there wont be excellent excuses for us not to protect them.

Why should a guy whose ancestors live in the town for 1000 years worship a country which didnt even existed 50 years ago, and most likely wont exist 50 years from now? That some guys drawing borders in their maps dont give exclusive rights for anyone to anything. This is Europe nothing is carved into stone, borders are constantly shifting, who knows, maybe tomorrow the arrogant little country who thought he can assimilate the locals will find itself into the country where the locals are the majority.

I dont know if the Soviets wanted to erase the Latvian culture, if they did they obviously failed, on the other hand Latvians clearly want to erase Russian culture, so by which regards they are better than the Soviets? Why do they think they will be successful, if the soviets werent, and why do they think that Russians wont fell the same hatred towards them, that they feel against the Russians? They are playing with fire, everyone who is playing these minority games is playing with fire, the EU was built exclusively not to play these games, because it started god know how many wars in the continent. Yeah I know Russian gov are horrible, what they do to the Ukrainians is even more horrible, that still doenst give Latvians any right for this, and its unfair not just for their minorities, but also towards the EU and their allies, it sheds bad light on us, jeopardize our security for a petty feud which could be resolved with a little bit of generosity.

I wouldnt make such a fuss about it. I speak english everyday with my colleagues, and dont ask them to learn my native language, thats actually an office policy, that we speak english even with our fellow countrymen inside. So what? Wont my country exist from now on? It did exist for 1100 years, but a shtty little IT company with its international crew will bring it down. Should I care if the Germans or the Brits or the French sending their kids into German Brit and French school while they stay here? Why should I care, its not my business, I dont have problems if anyone sends their kids there? Who has a real country and a secure right to it wont go into these kind of games. This only proves that Putin is right, even the Latvians arent sure if they are really existing, because if they would be, they wouldnt make problems about speaking Russian if they know Russian, because they will be Latvians anyway.

If thats the case then why do you give a flying fck which radio stations the Russians are listening, or which language they use in their shops. This is crazy that we are back to this in Europe, most of us speak 3 or 4 languages, and glad if we can practice them.

There was an initiative in the EU called the minority safepack, which by general would have addressed these issues, unfortunately that czech woman Vera Jourova killed it referring to the Benes decrees, and the supreme interests of Czechia. But the thing is on the table, sooner or later we will force even the Czechs, to comply, because thats absolutely necessary to conserve peace in the continent.
