Well, yes, but the problem with this thought is at the end of the day some will vote for a real party, which doesnt makes politics on indivudal issues, but issue bundles, so you have to make that compromise anyway. Or you make a completely dysfunctional government structure, as we see for example in Germany where 3+ parties have to rule, with concurrent thoughts, and it falls apart. BTW tribalism is an important glue, without it there wouldnt even be such a debate as immigration, since the nation itself doesnt really exists, theres no such thing as Sweden without being a bunch of tribalist folks calling themselves Swedes, they could by that regard call themselves Earthlings as well, then anyone would have the right to live on that swath of land.
