  1. this fear that AI is going to take over the world or be a huge danger to us is deeply if not entirely materialistic. whats the absolute worst that could happen? all of our machines rendered inoperable? ... and, even in this scenario, AI isnt the danger. in other words, this fear of AI causing an existential crisis is tantamount to fearing that knives will bring about an existential crisis simply because knives are used by some murderers.
