im a white canadian. i wouldnt go so far as to say the residential schools back in the day were about educating natives out of the goodness of those canadians hearts. in fact, im sure some natives were treated very poorly by that system or in that program. the government has never been our friend... that said, its pretty absurd to hold modern individuals accountable for historic atrocities, whatever they may be. if this were a legitimate thing, everybody would have to be held accountable to everybody else because atrocities permeate the history of mankind as a whole...
