Quod Perierat it's true. the whole idea of business is messed up for the most part. for instance, any given employee at any given mcdonald's franchise must ultimately generate more profit than the wage that they're paid by mcdonald's, otherwise the business would go bankrupt in very short order. and usually the wage they're paid is much less than the profit they generate.

  19. Quod Perierat you're just cherry picking information. go look at the poverty in South or Central America, or even Mexico, the US, or Canada. His point was that you said "[in the Victorian age] there was no worker safety or standard working hours, also kids worked in factories and other dangerous jobs." And his point is that we still have sweatshops all over with very similar conditions to that of the Victorian age. Hence things haven't improved that much since the Victorian age.

Quod Perierat in the west working conditions have improved in only a very few countries, yet at the expense of so many other places. you can still find child labor throughout Mexico and Central and South America. you can still find what could be chalked up to slave labour throughout North, Central, and South America. many of the governments responsible for passing for legislation to deal with such conditions, along with many of the official institutions responsible for enforcing such regulations, are also responsible for depriving and stifling other nations and their economies in the east and elsewhere, thus creating deplorable conditions in general.

  31. This almost seems like a step backwards, honestly. If you own a property, you should be able to choose whether or not you want to maintain that property. The tenant still has a choice to rent that particular property or another; Nobody is being coerced into renting run down properties over not run down properties. Likewise, if somebody who's renting that property from you does not pay or is not paying rent, you wouldn't want to have to play games in order to get them out and off of your property.

  49. a fetus lacks personhood and therefore aborting a fetus is like picking an apple from a tree. there is nothing human about a fetus aside from the fetus being a part of an actual living human being; just like there isn't anything treelike about an apple aside from the fact that the apple grew on the tree. if you separate a fetus from its host, the fetus dies, and that's because the fetus, even though it grows, was never really alive. if you were to punish all apple trees for the sake of apples, all you'd have is a bunch of rotten apples, and shortly thereafter you wouldn't have any apples at all
