  4. 伊藤博文 You do realize that polar bears that never leave the Arctic area is filled with pollution? The levels are so high that just a bite of their liver can kill a human within few days, because of the unusual high amounts of toxins in their liver. This does not happen because of that their are polluting factories near by. No, the Arctic area it self is free of any kind of production of pollution. But because of how wind and ocean currents work, all the pollution far away gets collected and transported up towards the polar regions where bg animals over time manage to accumulate very high amounts of toxins because of how the accumulation process works. This is a problem for all animals, also whales, despite them not living next door to the polluting countries.

Bare in mind these islanders take out a small pod, while they let the rest of the majority of pilot whales continue their life free in the wild, while your country kills a whole generation of chickens every 32-44 days, and do not get me started on how you jail up the rest of the animals and kill every one of them for money. WHat has elefants anything to do with this issue? DO you also blend in elephants into the debate when you talk about pigs or other animals in your country?

  11. Roy Sinar The latest numbers will be published soon as NAMMCO is working on this years estimation date gathered earlier this year. There first reaction for the first date they got in was that the numbers of pilot whales, and other species, were relatively hight compared to earlier data. The final estimation will tell us more as it will later be published when they are ready to do so.

If the numbers are the same than its safe to state that it is accurate when scientists have stated that what the Faroe Islanders do imposes no treat to the population of pilot whales.

You are asking people to "stop interfering with others opinions", yet you at the same time is doing the exact same as you are telling a group of natives what to do and what not to do and interfere with their opinion.  You tell people to "Quit getting in other people's business", yet you at the same time get involved with these islanders and their private business of doing what they have all the right to do.  You can not play the moral card and ask some to not do things when you are doing the exact same.

  21. E Mitzz A whole generation of chickens is wiped out every 28 to 36 days. That is 100% of a whole generation every 4 to 5 weeks. Here no generation of pilot whales is wiped out. Only 0.1 down to 0.001 % of a population that is non endangered, reproduces 2.5 to 3.5 annually. It is far more eco friendly to rely on local, organic, non endangered sources than any mass produced chicken that is killed for money and raised in ways that puts a huge negative strain on both the animal and the environment.

  22. Roy Sinar Bare in mind that these islanders take out whole pods, as you mentioned. But they do not kill a whole generation of pilot whales every 25 to 35 weeks as is done in most countries where chickens are killed in a large scale.

  23. Jojo-Siah The pilot whales do not die by being bleed to death. Our industrialized pigs, cows and alike are also cut up to bleed out. That is a natural part of the food process. The actual kill of our pigs, cows and alike is not by lettng them bleed, but most often by a stump gun brain killing the animal (its not dead, just brain dead) and the same thing happens when these islanders cut the spinal cord that causes the sudden vital bloodpresure drop to cause them to be braindead within a second. Not till after this braindead has occurred our industrialized butchers start to cut up our pigs and cows, and the same thing happens here where they also first start to cut the pilot whales up when they are braindead. The animals, no matter if they are pilot whales, cows or pigs, can still move after being brain dead, but that is all nerves pulling muscles cramps that makes it look like the animal is still alive, but technically it is fully dead by then, or braindead with no chance of sensing anything.

  24. Jojo-Siah a braindead animal does not stop stop moving. Have you ever slaughtered a chicken? You can cut its head of, head totally dispatched to the body, yet the animal can still move and if you place it back on the floor the legs and body might still run around. Remind you without a head on. But the animal is still described as dead despite some body movements. It is all nerves retracting

  29. +Jared Hulzenga I agree There are few natives or people left, who really strive to live a balanced life with and by nature. Yes, it involves killing, but as long as you do not over kill and treat nature with respect than its far better than any so called modern industrialized lifestyle.
