Glad to hear you are feeling better and thanks for the excellent video on staying warm and cozy in the van during cold weather!  I absolutely love the idea about the flannel duvet cover on an oversized comforter and will probably copy! A down comforter and decorative duvet cover would probably roll up nicely in to a cushion by day (tie ends with cord, ribbon, etc. or stuff roll into a decorative pillow case & tie off).  Already have my thick wool socks & beanie:)

Most of the duvet covers I've seen do have buttons or ties to keep the comforter in the cover, but there is nothing to keep the comforter from shifting around inside.  Being the clean freak I am, I'd probably find some way to tack the comforter corners  to the inside corners of the cover and then roll & stow the whole thing by day inside a decorative pillow case.  Would keep the bedding clean for longer periods of time & allow me to go longer in between washings:)
