I've moved often and traveled a lot - temp agencies have been a great resource when I've been new to a city and want to get my foot in the door at a company or make some money on a temporary basis. The industry is huge and jobs range from day labor to finance to healthcare to... A few of the companies are even international. The quality of the "franchise" can vary from one city to the next, though, even if they operate under the same name - I think it is important to find a few different companies in the industry you're interested in and "interview" all of them when you get to a new city you want to find work in. A great thing is that if you leave a city after working temporarily and return at a later time, you can often reactivate your file with the agencies you've worked for by simply calling them with your availability. They'll be glad to put you back to work ASAP if you've previously done well by them. Whew, long winded! LOL
