It's hard to even fathom that i live in an America where an honorable man and spithern gentleman like Robert Edward Lee has been demoralized and brandished as a racist scumbag when he himself abhorred slavery. He despised it. He wasn't fighting to preserve slavery. He was fighting for our southern states because he could never raise his sword against his home of Virginia. A place where he was born and where his kin folks are buried. A place where he learned to walk, talk, fish, and hunt. Where he went to school and church. A place where he learned to pray and was born again by the redeeming blood of Jesus. A place where he first fell in love and experienced that first kiss that began another chapter with children of his own. Only to have his monuments vandalized and spat on as if he was Hitler himself. Street signs bearing his honorable namesake and portraits and accolades removed from West Point's halls of record. Instead, the America I now live in has George Floyd monuments erected. Streets and plazas named after him. His portrait painted on the sides of buildings as if he's MLK. All this for a career criminal with a hall of records of his own consisting of aggravated assaults and armed robberies, domestic violence, countless drug offenses, and passing counterfeit notes. For a violent man with braun you'd think he'd been a tough SOB, but we all saw him crying and carrying on like a sobbing 4 year old who plops down in tge middle of the Walmart isle because mommy wouldn't by him the toy he wanted. I'm ashamed of what my country has become, but take no blame for it. I've been voting Republican each and every time since 1992.
