Isn't it something that the mountain range that divides the two countries sharing the same island also helped create its lush agriculture landscape on the Dominican side and lack thereof in Haiti due to the fact that the mountains block the wind currents and rains and some of sunlight which the Haitian dust cloud from dirt where grass should be blocks a lot of the sun to help grow vegetation. No matter, though, since the Dominican Republic gets all the rain and benefits from a lush green landscape.
