  1. There was a time when the IDF had more conventional methods of acquiring British defence tech - our museums are " littered" with examples of tanks , aircraft and even the odd submarine that were bought ( rather than captured) , then modified for local conditions

  2. For those interested , the INS Eilat (K 40 )( originally HMS Zealous R 39 ) ( one of the chase ships ) was later sunk on 21st October 1967 , after being hit by " styx" missiles from Port Said , but that's another story
