  1. swings and roundabouts - as a Gen X'er that went on skiing trips with my high school ( from England to Italy ) , yes I remember the smokers standing next to the toilet puffing away , while I was sitting 2 rows away , I also remember the movie screens located " strategically" along the plane so that folk could watch the DESIGNATED film/movie , that's if everyone shut up so I could hear the dialogue , boiled sweets for folk with ear pressure problems etc etc , BUT I remember more leg room , better food and " are you sure we are flying on a DH Comet ? oh , it's the mark 2 !!, phew !! ). Budget airlines are going to insane levels to save money , less leg room , several classes of economy ,purchase snacks on board , even a nice cup of PG Tips has to be paid for !!, ever decreasing carry on baggage sizes allowed without extra payment and " why did you bring your camera bag , you know you can do everything with an i-phone !! " . Just once in my life , I'd like to splash the cash , and see if business class REALLY IS worth paying the extra 40 percent , because inevitably , one arrives at the destination at the same time as an economy classed passenger !!
