Personally, when I meet someone new, I look at whether they are thoughtful (i.e., whether they're ego centric or thinks of others,) approachable, whether they ask about you, etc. Also, I tend to prioritise making a good impression with a person when I meet them so I think I need to prioritise how other people's first impressions with me are too.

  2. ​ @An_Gha_  making a good impression ≠ being fake. It's trying to show off the best side of me to the new people I meet. I know myself, I know my best qualities. Besides, faking certain things like confidence or charisma aren't necessarily bad things as long as you don't do things that false to the authentic side of yourself.
