It is so strange to see Masha Gessen, the vir virtuous of russian opposition, stopping at a mid-conclusion. A totalitarian regime with an idea of a supremacy of some nation over all, of negligence and even non-existence of national culture of its neighbours - such a totalitarian regime has a special name. And it is not by chance that they have chosen a half of swastika as their modern symbol.

@justinshin2279 Some intellectuals of 1930's believed that there is no thing worse than a war. They went as far as losing their honour - in 1938, in Czechoslovakia crisis. This point we have passed in 2014, when not only Russia trumped on the Budapest memorandum, but other guarantees hardly moved a finger to protect ukrainian integrity. Now we are in March 1939, with President Hacha not fainting and capitulating before Wermaht but leading its nation into a patriotic war. Well, we may sit and ponder, till russian rockets destroy ukranian cities. But we are the next in the line. There is but two ways to appease an aggressor: with a bullet and with a shell.

@justinshin2279 Russian actions in Ukraine are just what you would expect of a fascist state Russia has become. This is my point: actually, we have a new Reich here. With imperialist and revanchist foreign policy, idea of supremacy of their culture over everything else, denial the right of independent existence of culture of neighbours, trial to establish a new world order by force. If you go into their interior, you will find all the necessary signs: authoritarian state being a syndicate of security agencies with state corporations and state affiliated corporations, with a reptile parliament and courts; a state monopoly of a public information, a cult of the national leader, a cult of force, a cult of army. Those who propose dealing with Putin, those who promote their case are but support fascism of our days. Literally.
